Parodi, an entrepreneur based in Milan, goes to Rome to sign a deal with the Chairman of Opus, the Catholic Conservative Party. While he's in the city, Parodi goes to see Maryse, a call-girl plying her trade with two friends in a high-priced building. One misunderstanding leads to the next and Parodi finds himself introducing Maryse as his wife to the Chairman. As it turns out, the conservative leader, a man like any other, shows up at the call-girls' pad and is felled by a heart attack at the sight of Maryse. Now, the body has to be returned to the office to save the man's honor.

The double hoax ends with the hapless three spending an evening where mishaps keep piling up. A Christmas party that neither Delormel nor the young people will ever forget.

In fear of his reaction when he is able to see her, Jeanne disappears. However, the young man finds her and "recognizes" the woman he loves.
