Mr Edouard is dancer, musician, impresario, director and manager, all rolled into one, of a dance company, which he rules over with an iron fist. While they are on tour in Italy, the clandestine delivery of a baby into his bedroom turns Edouard, against all inclination, into a doting daddy. But soon his life is overrun with babies and bedlam, sending Mr. Jack-of-all-trades into a frenzy that threatens to blow his mind.

Pierre is so discouraged by his failure as a pianist that he decides to commit suicide. During one of his many attempts, he saves young Caroline, a depressed singer, from drowning. Since Pierre keeps botching his own suicides, he hires a contract killer. Meanwhile, the press has gotten hold of Pierre and Caroline's story and turned them into stars. They start to enjoy life again in the spotlight of success. But the killers have contract-terms to meet and are hot on Pierre's trail.
