Lucie cheats on her fifty year old husband, Doctor Marcelin who fakes his own death. Although the Doctor is aware of his wife's infidelity, he drafts a will that splits his money between Lucie and a former mistress and mother of his daughter. However, the doctor reappears and, silence being the better part of valor, nobody peeps, allowing Marcelin to take a trip with his young secretary, believed to be his mistress but who is actually his daughter.
